What is Kernel ?

 Kernel :-




Kernel is the part of the operating system. It interacts directly with the hardware of the computer.

Functions of Kernel:-

  • Manage computer memory
  • Maintain file system
  • Handle interrupts and errors 
  • Perform input output services

Shell: 

Shell reds our commands and interprets to execute the program. It plays a role of command interpreter. It acts as an interface between user and kernel.

system disk:-

 The disk which holds the three essential DOS programs is called System disk.

POST:-

 It refers to Power on Self Test. It checks the hardware to ensure that everything is present and functioning properly.

BIOS:-

 It is the acronym for Basic Input Output System. It contains all the code required to control the keyboard, display screen, disk drives, serial communication and miscellaneous function.
